In the Fall of 1973, the Cumbres & Toltec was only two years old. It was a very different railroad than today. Double headers were the norm, and no passenger cars existed.

Covered in this VIDEO is mike number 483, now out of service. This loco still stands in the Chama yard, but has not been run for many years. Mike 487 also helps out sporting it's snowplow for these runs.

Research and script by John M. Koch who has spent many years chasing and studying Colorado Narrow gauge. This is a Fall color bonanza, shot in September when the aspen are at their peak by noted photographer Jerry Carson. The incredible 16 mm photography in this production make this a collectors item!
