OldSF6_SurfLine_dvd.jpg

In volume six, Santa Fe's old surf line, Rich Scheid takes us up the California golden coast and along the beaches of southern California as the surf pounds in behind the many trains.

From San Diego's Union Station and up the surf line we travel through Old Town, Sorrento Valley, Del Mar, Solona Beach, Carlsbad, Oceanside, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Anaheim, and take a tour of L.A. Union Station, we watch trains come in and out of the Station platforms and pass the tower.

We continue north of L.A. up the old Southern Pacific Line and up the coast to Santa Barbara, stopping at towns like Glendale, Camarillo, Ventura, Dulah, and Seacliff, watching trains round the bays at the foot of coastal mountains with plenty of great surf shots along the way.

We stop at Carpinteria California, we take a good look at Santa Barbara, the depot, and its many trains, and we take a tour of town. You will see plenty of passenger trains and take a ride up the coast on Amtrak's Surf Liner.
