The Best of Passenger Trains of the 50's and 60's

Wow! That's my description of this tape after seeing just the very first few feet of footage. Lots and lots of passenger train action, mostly in the West, with lots of variety in equipment as well.

As an example, we see the CB&Q's Empire Builder, the North Coast Limited, the California Zephyr, Nebraska Zephyr, Santa Fe warbonnets, the Super Chief, the Texas Chief, UP's Trains 104 and 108 combined coming into Union Station at Chicago, the Tulsan, PA's on the Santa Fe at Lamar, Kansas, and a Santa Fe #67 mixed train near Wichita.

Also included are D&RGW Ca lifornia Zephyr F units, and we're given a long cab ride into the mountains on this train; the Colorado Eagle on the Missouri Pacific, and lots and lots of UP passenger train action, including the City of St. Louis picking up mail on the fly.

Included also is a steam trip on the D&RGW at Alamosa and more. I enjoy these older tapes, and Green Frog has done an excellent job bringing these back for railfans to enjoy. They're educational as well as entertaining. S Gaugian
