Neff DVD-N024-GT Cab Ride-Springfield to Cincinnati
N024_DVD.jpg
Climb aboard Grand Trunk train #216 (an all trailer van train) powered by an ex-Rock Island GP38-2 for a cab ride from Springfield, Ohio (Maitland) to Cincinnati (CSX Queensgate Yard).
The Grand Trunk gained trackage rights over former Erie-Lackawanna rail from Maitland to Cold Springs and then Conrail tracks all the way to Cincinnati. You'll pass through locations such as Fairborn, Dayton, West Carrollton, Miamisburg, Carlisle, Middletown, Maud Hill, Sharon Yard, Elmwood Place, and Queensgate Yard.
This video is of historical significance since this GT trailer train was annulled several years ago. Also the Grand Trunk no longer operates from Detroit to Cincinnati. Parent company Canadian National North America spun off the former Flat Rock subdivision to the Indiana & Ohio Railroad which is now owned by Railtex.
This video is 80 minutes long including 10 minutes of previews. Full color and sound. A map of the area covered as well as onscreen graphics keeps the viewer informed of locations.
